Can You Bring Your Own Food and Drink on Board a Rental Yacht?

Can You Bring Your Own Food and Drink on Board a Rental Yacht?

You are planning the perfect day. You have the yacht, you have the route and you have the people. Then, suddenly, the question comes up: “Can we bring that bottle of wine we have been saving for a special occasion, or the children’s favourite snacks?”

The answer is a resounding yes. At Eivillas, we understand that your boat is, for a few hours or a few days, your private home in the Mediterranean. And in your home, you are in charge.

But, like everything in Ibiza, there is a “pro” way to do it so that the day is a complete success — and you do not end up peeling potatoes while everyone else is swimming in Formentera.

1. Total Freedom — With a Touch of Comfort

You can bring whatever you like. From that bottle of champagne someone gave you to the group’s favourite snacks. The crew will be delighted to help you chill the drinks and serve them.

A local tip: the sea makes you hungrier than you might imagine. If you decide to bring your own food, choose fresh, easy-to-eat options: sushi, cut fruit, gourmet salads… Nothing that requires a complicated cooking setup if you do not want to miss a single minute of sunshine.

2. The Danger of “Forbidden Stains”

Here is a little sailor’s secret that may save you from trouble. In luxury yachting, there are two public enemies: red wine and red berries.

A glass of red wine spilled on light leather upholstery or on the teak of a million-euro superyacht can ruin the mood — and the deposit. If you have the choice, go for well-chilled whites, Provençal rosés or refreshing cocktails. Your captain will thank you forever.

3. The “Zero Stress” Option: Our On-board Catering

If you are truly coming to Ibiza to switch off, why carry supermarket bags along the jetty?

At Eivillas, we work with the best chefs and catering teams on the island. We can arrange for the fridge to be filled with your favourite brands by the time you arrive on board, and for a private chef to prepare a salt-baked sea bass while you jump from the bathing platform of your catamaran. That is real luxury: not having to think about the shopping list.

4. The Middle Ground: Going Ashore at a Beach Club

Many guests bring drinks and a few snacks on board for the aperitif, then use the tender service — the auxiliary boat — so the skipper can take them ashore for lunch at a restaurant in Formentera or Cala Jondal. It is the classic Ibiza plan, and it works beautifully.

The Eivillas Verdict

Bring whatever makes you happy, but do not let logistics steal your rest. If you want to bring your own selection, go ahead. If you prefer us to make sure every premium detail is taken care of, all you have to do is ask.

After all, we are here so that your only concern is whether the water is the perfect temperature for your first swim.
