But, like everything in Ibiza, there is a “pro” way to do it so that the day is a complete success — and you do not end up peeling potatoes while everyone else is swimming in Formentera.

You can bring whatever you like. From that bottle of champagne someone gave you to the group’s favourite snacks. The crew will be delighted to help you chill the drinks and serve them.

A local tip: the sea makes you hungrier than you might imagine. If you decide to bring your own food, choose fresh, easy-to-eat options: sushi, cut fruit, gourmet salads… Nothing that requires a complicated cooking setup if you do not want to miss a single minute of sunshine.

Here is a little sailor’s secret that may save you from trouble. In luxury yachting, there are two public enemies: red wine and red berries.

A glass of red wine spilled on light leather upholstery or on the teak of a million-euro superyacht can ruin the mood — and the deposit. If you have the choice, go for well-chilled whites, Provençal rosés or refreshing cocktails. Your captain will thank you forever.
